New Members

Welcome!

If you are new, congratulations! Please see the items below to help you get started!

Join the Band's Remind to stay informed. This is a requirement as we rely on this system heavily throughout the year.

What to Bring for Band Camp:

  • All equipment (where applicable): instrument/sticks/reeds/music/flags/poles/rifles/etc.

  • Music - always. Yes, this is listed twice. Always have your music and drill on you at all times even, if you have it memorized.

  • Pencils/highlighters for marking music

  • Water bottle/canteen for on-field practices

  • Bring a packed lunch

  • Eat breakfast before morning rehearsals

  • Comfortable and weather appropriate clothes. See school guidelines on dress code, check the weather, and plan accordingly.

  • Appropriate footwear: athletic socks and gym shoes - no flip flops, sandals, crocks, or dress shoes!

  • Hat(s) to block sun exposure (wind players especially should wear one to avoid sunburned lips which will affect your playing)

  • Sunglasses and sunscreen

  • Snacks - Any food items should be sent in re-sealable plastic containers or Ziploc bags. Food, other than water, is prohibited on the field.

What you will need for Football Games, Competitions, and Parades:

    • Show shirt (we look uniform at all times)

    • A complete band uniform:

      • Hat (except front ensemble/pit and tubas)

      • Gloves - Each student is responsible for having these with them on game/competition days (except front ensemble/pit)

      • Uniform Jacket

      • Uniform pants

      • Marching Shoes

      • Raincoat

      • Plain black socks (crew length or longer)

    • Hair must be away from the face, over ears and not touching the collar of uniform (if at all possible hair should be worn in a high bun on top of head)

    • Instrument - you are responsible for your instrument and all the necessities.

    • All music and warmups

    • Money - if you want food during the 3rd quarter break

  • Please the following guidelines when dressing (Band uniforms) for performances:

    • For home games: students should have their pants, shoes, and show shirt on. Jacket on a hanger in their garment bag. They will put their jacket on before we march to the football field. Woodwinds may bring their instrument cases to the bleachers if it looks like it will rain or are in cheerleading.

    • For away performances (games and competitions): students should have their pants, shoes, and show shirt on. Jacket on a hanger in their garment bag. There is a pocket for gloves. The rain jacket might fit in there as well. They will put their jacket on when they arrive to the performance location but before they exit the bus. The hat should be in a hatbox during the bus ride. This streamlines getting on and off the bus. Instrument cases stay on the bus or trailer. Woodwinds may bring their case if it looks like it will rain or are in cheerleading.

    • Students should always have their garment bag, hatbox, gloves, and raincoat with them.
